Matcha is a powdered green tea that is harvested from tea plants that are specially shaded from direct sunlight before harvesting. This results in a higher chlorophyll and antioxidant content and a richer, greener color. After harvesting, the fresh leaves are steamed, dried, and ground into a powder in traditional mills. Unlike regular brewed tea, when we drink Matcha tea, we consume the entire tea leaf, thus providing our bodies with all the nutrients contained in matcha tea, including those that are insoluble.
